Mount Allison ended a 56-game losing streak dating back to 2018 with a thrilling victory over UPEI this afternoon.
Veteran attackmen led the charge, with Joe Webster scoring a hat trick, Aidan Hazen adding two goals, and Ashton Gillis contributing another key tally. Sophomore Noah Leclerc also found the back of the net, while rookie Tyler Weldon, out of the Maritime lacrosse powerhouse Harrison Trimble High School in Moncton, celebrated his first collegiate goal.
In net, rookie Ethan Rowbotham, a product of Moncton High School, earned his first career victory, providing a solid backbone for the team’s defense and helping secure a historic win for the Mounties.
This milestone marks a turning point for the Mount Allison program and gives fans and players alike renewed optimism for the seasons ahead.
