Four games in action last weekend.

Week 7 in the Maritime University Field Lacrosse League saw four games last weekend with all six teams in action.

Game 1 last Friday night Saint Mary's hosted the Mount A Mounties and the Huskies used a 6-2 opening quarter to defeat Mount A 14-8. 8-4 SMU at half saw an even start to the second half, with a 2-2 thrid quarter had SMU up 10-6. The Huskies doubled up Mount A 4-2 in the final frame for the 14-8 victory.

Blake MacDonald had nine of the 14 SMU goals on the night and finished with 12 points in Saint Mary's first win of the year. Peter Smith added a hat trick while Lee Davidson and Hunter Thompson added singles and Jamie Hore an assist. Morgan Manuel picked up the win in nets for the Huskies, who improve to 1-5.

Spencer Betts paced the Mounties with two goals and finished with three points. Geoff Zed and Gus Doane each had two goals while Jerica LeBlanc scored a goal and goalie Jacob Bragg chipped in an assist in the loss. Mount Allison falls to 0-7.

Game 2 last Saturday afternoon had Mount A hosting the UNB Buccaneers in their first of two ``Battle of New Brunswick``  games.

The Buccaneers blanked Mount A 6-0 in the opening frame and lead 10-2 at half. Third and fourth quarter scores were 12-3 and 13-5 UNB.

UNB`s MacKenzie McCoy had five points on two goals and three assists, leading all scorers while Head Read had four goals, Zachary Dunseith three goals. Alex Miller, John Grant, Matt McConnell, and Chase Wallace each had singles in the win. Miller also added two assists and Grant  had one. McConnell picked up the win in nets for UNB, who improves to 3-5.

Peter Burns had four goals for the Mounties while Geoff Zed had the other goal for Mount A. Zed added two assists as did Gus Doane in the loss. Spencer Betts was in nets and Mount A drops to 0-8.

Game 3 saw a rematch of the past four MUFLL championships when the Dal Tigers visited the StFX X-Men last Sunday afternoon.

The 4-time defending MUFLL champion Dal Tigers used first half quarter scores of 4-0 and 7-1 for an 11-1 lead at half. Second half quarter scores of 4-2 and 4-1 for Dal saw the Tigers claim the 19-4 victory.

Dal`s Ricky Canning led all scorers with seven points on five goals and two assists. Louis Martin also had five goals and added one assist for six points. Paddy Quinn had two goals, Drew MacDonald scored twice, while Wes Gardner, Sam Domachevski, Brett McGuire, and Reilly Letterick each had goals for Dal. Gardner also added an assist. Matt Dunbar picked up the win in nets for Dal, who improves to 7-0 on the season.

Jimmy Shea led StFX  with three goals followed by Ian McShane with one goal and two assists. Connor Clarkson also had an assist. Zach Leblanc picked up the loss in nets for the X-Men who drop to 6-1 on the year.

The final game of Week 7 in MUFLL saw the Acadia Axemen host the SMU Huskies Sunday evening. First half quarter scores of 11-1 Acadia and 4-2 SMU had Acadia up 13-5 at half. A 4-3 Acadia third quarter and an even fourth 3-3 had the scoresheet 20-11 Acadia.

Gavin Quigley had seven points on four goals and three assists for Acadia. Luke Byrne had five goals, Robbie Grant three, while Charlie Clary and Ian Donovan had two goals each. Chris Clifford and Liam Peck had singles while MacDoanlad added two assists and Byrne, Clifford and Chris Walker each had one assist. Errol Spring picked up the win in nets for Acadia, who improve to 5-2.

Hunter Thompson had four goals for SMU, while Blake MacDonald had three, Peter Smith two and Lee Davidson and Phil Elford each had singles. Mitchell Dutrizac picked up the loss in nets for the Huskies, who drop to 1-6.
